PRCA: Ropes Course Installation Standards
Last modified 09-07-2008
Ropes Course / Zip Lines / Operations / Installation / Canopy Tours Standards
Current Version: September 2008
The PRCA has produced ropes course standards which have been peer reviewed, received engineer endorsements through associated vendors, incorporate break test data, and written in a practical sense for program operational use. These standards also incorporate numerous diagrams to assist in content explanation.
The ropes course standards have been developed, reviewed, and re-written in an effort to develop relevant and user friendly words, explanations, and diagrams. As with any ever changing industry, the standards will be updated on a regular basis and newer versions will be drafted and distributed to members. This 80 plus page standards booklet contains construction details, inspection criteria, materials, operations, and staff training information, along with equipment care, ethical guidelines, and actual examples of staff training assessment, rope logs, and other training forms.
